Adaptive Materials, Inc is the world’s leading developer of portable fuel cell technology. AMI is the first company to develop, demonstrate and deliver a portable, affordable, and fuel flexible Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC) system. This innovated technology generates electricity using commercially available fuels like propane or butane. We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our team and support the efforts to take our proven technology to the commercial market. This position will report to the Controller.

Position Requirements and Functions

This position is responsible for completeness and accuracy of the company’s general ledger and financial statements. Additional responsibilites will include compliance reporting for governmental funding sources, as well as, internal audit and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures. Specific duties will include: Government Billings, monthly and annual close of books, support preparation of financial statement, and providing assistance with Compliance Reporting requirements.

Required Skills, Knowledge, Experience

Skills

  • Strong analytical and quantitative competencies, understanding of accounting theory and practice.
  • High level of organization and documentation. Demonstrated success with managing projects, and handling multiple priorities. Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience. 3-5 years of Bookkeeping / Accounting experience is required.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Excel and MS Office products. Experience with Intuit products (Quickbooks) and ERP knowledge preferred.

Office Manager

We are looking for full time Office Manager to join our team and support the efforts to take our proven technology to the commercial market. This position will report to the Director of Human Resources.

Position Requirements and Functions

The Office Manager maintains the administrative processes of the front office. The purpose of the Office Manager is to provide administrative support necessary to effectively run the AMI office. The Office Manager will be the first point of contact with customer and visitor reception, receive and administer telephone calls, distribute mail, maintain a file system and files, maintain office equipment and supplies in working order. Upon request, the assistant will provide support with the coordination of schedules, meeting preparation, business communications, travel, purchasing supplies. Draft, prepare, distribute, and follow-up with various correspondence. Prepare agendas, presentations, power point slides, background research, and complete minutes for meetings. Coordinate the Leadership Team’s schedules and update calendars.

    Mechanical Engineer 2008 - 23

    We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our Product Development Team as a key contributor in taking our proven technology to the commercial market. This position will report to the Manager-Product Development.

    Position Requirements and Functions

    The person in this position will perform mechanical engineering on military and commercial portable fuel cell projects from concept to post-launch support. Working within a multidisciplinary team, integrate fluid-mechanical and electrical subsystems with the latest fuel cell technology. Key duties involve:

  • Design mechanical components including power plant, miniature pump and valve assemblies, electrical packaging and housing
  • Oversee manufacturing and testing of prototypes
  • Manage supplier relationships
  • Evaluate testing data to verify compliance to applicable regulations and quality guidelines
  • Provide innovative new product ideas with a strong engineering foundation
  • Transition designs to larger scale manufacturing
  • Utilize a standard root cause and corrective action process to permanently resolve product issues
  • Occasional overnight travel is required

    Required Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent education is a must. MS is desired.
  • 5+ year track record of commercially successful mechanical engineering designs
  • CAD/CAE expertise. Solidworks preferred
  • Application of engineering and manufacturing processes including working knowledge of Lean, DFMA, Six Sigma, and FMEA. Able to turn creative ideas into practical solutions
  • Hands on mentality, strong communication and presentation skills, risk taker with high degree of integrity.

    Position Requirements

    Start up company in alternative energy seeking an enthusiastic computer engineer to work on embedded firmware. The qualified individual will be working with AMI’s Product Development group to develop cutting egde fuel cell technologies with primary responsibility for power interface to our fuel cell systems including writing and debugging code and the controls functionality.

    Required Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

  • A BS in computer engineering, computer science or equivalent experience. Master degree is desired.
  • Solid C programming skills along with excellent debugging aptitude.
  • C programming, software debugging knowledge and experience. Embedded systems experience (ARM Processors a plus).
  • Qualified individual should be self guided and require minimal supervision.
  • The position will require creative problem solving and an open-minded attitude toward meeting stretch objectives
